Terrain Studio was formed in 2011, but our roots go back more than 10 years. Originally conceived as a design-build practice, our work is founded on the sublime craft of timeless spacemaking for the built environment. Across myriad scales and a diverse array of project typologies we employ big picture thinking to ensure the integrity of the finished work.

Currently located in the Roaring Fork Valley just a few miles southwest of Aspen, Colorado, Terrain operates a small studio specializing in site planning, landscape design, master planning, visualization, illustration, environmental graphics, and mapping. We bring timely project delivery, attention to client and consultant needs, and a keen understanding of design and documentation.

In the former economy being small meant less manpower and limited capability. We have learned to embrace change and find that being small lends us a massive advantage over our competitors. Our ability to adapt to shifting constraints and singular focus on individual projects coupled with a passion for creative exploration and design experimentation helps our clients and partners achieve the best results. Terrain is currently pursuing a vast range of projects across the United States as well as within our local valley.
